Krossá Riverbed

This series of photographs were taken by Sari Lievonen in Þórsmörk National Park (Thorsmork, woods of Thor), in Iceland, in August 2010. River Krossá, running north of Goðaland (the land of Gods) is a wide rivedbed were the water meanders its way through the basin in various routes, places, depths, and speeeds. The valley is sheltered by beatiful, green and rugged mountains alongside with two glaciers, the much bigger Mýrdalsjökull and the more notorius Eyjafjallajökull. The volcano erupting under the latter glacier caused the huge air traffic distruption in Europe in April 2010.
